haggerty_ray2016UNC Bioinformatics and Computational Biology Graduate Student Rachel Haggerty has been awarded a Ruth L. Kirschstein Predoctoral Fellowship from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute to study “Single-cell dynamics of the OCT4-GATA6 axis in human lung progenitors”. Haggerty works in the lab of Jeremy Purvis in UNC’s Department of Genetics. The purpose of this Kirschstein-NRSA program is to enable promising predoctoral students with potential to develop into a productive, independent research scientists, to obtain mentored research training while conducting dissertation research.
